This recipe was taken from a Louisiana Classic Cookbook entitled, "Who's Your          Mama, Are You Catholic and Can You Make A Roux" by Marcelle Bienvenu.                  I found the book for a few dollars on a used book website, Thrift Books.  All I can          say is that I highly recommend the book and that the author's life story, which she      interweaves along with a whole slew of delicious recipes, will keep you highly              entertained for quite a while.  Here then, is the first of her recipes that I tried.

    Strawberry or Raspberry Romanoff

STRAWBERRY OR RASPBERRY ROMANOFF

  Ingredients:

2 cups of French Vanilla ice cream.

1 cup fresh strawberries or raspberries.

  1 tablespoon sugar.

  3 ounces Grand Marnier.

  1/2 cup whipping cream.

  Procedure:

  1.  Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

  2.  Serve immediately in large wine glasses.  Garnish (or not) with a fresh sprig              of mint.

  3.  It is also good served over cubed pound cake placed in a small bowl.

**  If you are not going to serve immediately, place in small freezer proof bowls              and freeze for later enjoyment.

**  I think this would also be good with fresh peaches and perhaps some Peach             Schnapps instead of the Grand Marnier.

**  This recipe, as written, serves two.
