Peppermint Patty
I don't know if you serve alcoholic beverages at Thanksgiving or not but if you do, I have a drink that will take that "stuffed" feeling away, you know, the one that you always get after you are done with the turkey.
It's a long story but many, many years ago, a bartender at a restaurant in Easton, PA named Villa Richard, (pronounced "Veela Ree-shard"), took one look at me after a big meal at the restaurant and said, "I know just what you need" and he mixed the following simple drink for me. He was right. Shortly after finishing the drink, I was ready to eat again, no more "stuffed" feeling so with Thanksgiving coming up, as a "Public Service Announcement", here is that recipe.
Pour equal parts of white creme de cacao and white creme de menthe into an appropriately sized glass over crushed ice.
Mix or stir well and enjoy. It will remind you of a liquid York's Peppermint Patty, in fact, it is known as a "Peppermint Patty".
You must use WHITE creme de cacao and WHITE creme de menthe. The brown creme de cacao and the green creme de menthe or any combination of these WILL NOT WORK.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
